CASTING CALL: CHILD PERFORMER (Scotland)
Professional Circus Production: Guts by SUPERFAN
We are seeking a child performer to join an upcoming professional circus production in Scotland.
Guts is a new circus show by SUPERFAN and will be performed by a professional adult circus performer and a child. It will involve a child performer being part of the devising process, learning choreography, and performing partner acrobatics with the adult circus performer. This brand new small-scale intergenerational circus work is about fragility, care, and risk. It’s a continuation of our practice of making contemporary circus and dance-theatre shows performed by both adults and children, and is rooted in our preoccupation with themes of risk, fear, and death, how our relationship to these changes as we age, and the politics of these themes in relation to the socially constructed identities of children and adults.
Audition workshops will take place in March. The next stage of development will take place in Autumn 2026, with full production in 2027/28. Auditions will take place in Glasgow and the show will be created in Scotland.
