APPLICATIONS WANTED FOR HANDBALANCER/ACROBAT/GROUND BASED CIRCUS PERFORMER
for Little Top presented by Starcatchers & SUPERFAN
We are looking for a performer to join us for creation and touring of our latest show Little Top, a new circus show for babies ages 0-18 months and their adults.
About Little Top
Welcome to Little Top, a magical first circus experience for babies aged 0-18 months and their adults.
At a time in their development when young children are discovering their own physicality, and the pleasures and perils of gravity, Little Top invites babies to experience all the fun of the circus. Roll up for a gently thrilling performance which includes spectacular balances, astonishing tumbles and inventive juggling.
Little Top will transport you to a playful, joyous, upside down, topsy-turvy world where people can fly, patterns fill the air and anything is possible.
Little Top is a co-production between Starcatchers and SUPERFAN.
The performance will take place in our very own enclosed circus tent with a cast of 4. The show will be about 30-45 minutes with time after for audiences stay and play, and will include juggling, acrobatics and hand balancing.
The work will be created through devising and play, led and directed by Kim Donohoe and Ellie Dubois, with regular sharings for babies and their adults along the way.
About Starcatchers and SUPERFAN
Starcatchers is Scotland’s National Arts and Early Years organisation; specialising in creating performances and exploring creative activity for babies, toddlers and young children aged 0-5 and the adults who care for them.
SUPERFAN is a collaboration between Ellie Dubois, Kim Donohoe and Pete Lannon. We make new performances for adult and young audiences. Our work blends theatre, performance art, circus and choreography.
We are looking for a high skill level handbalancer, acrobat or ground based circus performer of any gender who is also able to take part in group acrobalance and other aspects of the show.
We are a small, hard-working team and work collaboratively on all aspects of touring; the role will involve performing and assisting with get-ins/get-outs and general touring activities.
This work is created especially for very young audiences, and although experience in performing for babies is not essential, we are keen to work with someone who is excited to make and perform work for this unique audience.
